The first “Pope Video” of January 2016 is entitled “Inter-religious Dialogue.” According to Francis, “we are all children of God.” From its official website, The Pope Video is a “global initiative developed by the Pope’s Worldwide Prayer Network (Apostleship of Prayer) to assist in the dissemination of the Holy Father’s monthly intentions related to the challenges the humanity faces.” Concerning the blasphemous religious title, Jesus said,
But you, do not be called ‘Rabbi’; for One is your Teacher, the Christ, and you are all brethren. Do not call anyone on earth your father; for One is your Father, He who is in heaven. And do not be called teachers; for One is your Teacher, the Christ. (Matthew 28:8-10)
Here is a transcript of the video below:
POPE FRANCIS
Most of the planet’s inhabitants declare themselves believers. This should lead to dialogue among religions. We should not stop praying for it and collaborating with those who think differently.RINCHEN KANDRO – LAMA
I have confidence in the Buddha.DANIEL GOLDMAN – RABBI
I believe in God.GUILLERMO MARCO – CATHOLIC PRIEST
I believe in Jesus Christ.OMAR ABBOUD – ISLAMIC LEADER
I believe in God, Allah.
The video portrays Jesus Christ as just another name among other false religious teachers. But “God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father” (Philippians 2:9-11).
As I pointed out in The First Emergent Pope: “Now, we have the world’s first Emergent Postmodern Pope.” Francis has made statements about God not judging homosexuals, and atheists going to heaven, The Pope’s postmodern worldview has led to the mindset presented in The Pope Video. Buddha cannot save! Allah cannot save! The Law of Moses cannot save! Roman Catholicism cannot save! The Apostle Peter said, “Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved” (Acts 4:12).
Francis continued:
Many think differently, feel differently, seeking God or meeting God in different ways. In this crowd, in this range of religions, there is only one certainty we have for all: we are all children of God.
Are we all children of God? What do the Scriptures say about the children of God and the children of the devil? There is a passage in John chapter 8 where Jesus gives us insight into these questions. First of all, notice that as Jesus spoke, “many believed in Him.” (John 8:30). These people declared themselves believers (to use Francis’ words). Moreover, these were believers in Jesus. Nevertheless, Jesus tells us it is more than mere belief, even in Him, which makes us a child of God. Jesus tells us who are the children of God and the children of the devil.
Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
They answered Him, “We are Abraham’s descendants, and have never been in bondage to anyone. How can You say, ‘You will be made free’?”
Jesus answered them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, whoever commits sin is a slave of sin. And a slave does not abide in the house forever, but a son abides forever. Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.
“I know that you are Abraham’s descendants, but you seek to kill Me, because My word has no place in you. I speak what I have seen with My Father, and you do what you have seen with your father.”
They answered and said to Him, “Abraham is our father.”
Jesus said to them, “If you were Abraham’s children, you would do the works of Abraham. But now you seek to kill Me, a Man who has told you the truth which I heard from God. Abraham did not do this. You do the deeds of your father.”
Then they said to Him, “We were not born of fornication; we have one Father—God.”
Jesus said to them, “If God were your Father, you would love Me, for I proceeded forth and came from God; nor have I come of Myself, but He sent Me. Why do you not understand My speech? Because you are not able to listen to My word. You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it. But because I tell the truth, you do not believe Me. Which of you convicts Me of sin? And if I tell the truth, why do you not believe Me? He who is of God hears God’s words; therefore you do not hear, because you are not of God.” (John 8:31-47)
Moreover, the following Scriptures tell us plainly who are the children of God and the children of the devil:
Blessed are the peacemakers, For they shall be called sons of God. (Matthew 5:9)
But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven (Matthew 5:44-45)
The field is the world, the good seeds are the sons of the kingdom, but the tares are the sons of the wicked one. (Matthew 13:38)
But love your enemies, do good, and lend, hoping for nothing in return; and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High. (Luke 6:35)
But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name. (John 1:12)
… in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience, among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others. (Ephesians 2:2-3)
Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience. (Ephesians 5:6)
Do all things without complaining and disputing, that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world, holding fast the word of life, so that I may rejoice in the day of Christ that I have not run in vain or labored in vain. (Philippians 2:14-16)
Because of these things the wrath of God is coming upon the sons of disobedience. (Colossians 3:6)
… as obedient children, not conforming yourselves to the former lusts, as in your ignorance (1 Peter 1:14)
… having eyes full of adultery and that cannot cease from sin, enticing unstable souls. They have a heart trained in covetous practices, and are accursed children. (2 Peter 2:14)
Little children, let no one deceive you. He who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous. (1 John 3:7)
In this the children of God and the children of the devil are manifest: Whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is he who does not love his brother. (1 John 3:10)
No we are not all children of God as Francis proclaimed. In early 2005, Francis met with a transgender Spaniard at the Vatican whom he told, “You are a son of God and the Church loves you and accepts you as you are.” In stark contrast, the Apostle Peter said, “In truth I perceive that God shows no partiality. But in every nation whoever fears Him and works righteousness is accepted by Him” (Acts 10:34,35).
The new video continues:
RINCHEN KANDRO – LAMA
I believe in love.DANIEL GOLDMAN – RABBI
I believe in love.GUILLERMO MARCO – CATHOLIC PRIEST
I believe in love.OMAR ABBOUD – ISLAMIC LEADER
I believe in love.
Everybody believes in love. What does that even mean? “In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins” (1 John 4:10). God is love, and the love of God is demonstrated by Him sending Jesus Christ. Jesus said:
If you love Me, keep My commandments . . . He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him. . . If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love. (John 14:15,21; 15:10)
John the Apostle describes how love is directly related to keeping the commandments of God.
But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him. . . By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and keep His commandments. For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome. . . This is love, that we walk according to His commandments. This is the commandment, that as you have heard from the beginning, you should walk in it. (1 John 2:5; 5:2-3; 2 John 1:6)
Francis concludes “The Pope Video” with the following words:
I hope you will spread my prayer request this month: “That sincere dialogue among men and women of different faiths may produce the fruits of peace and justice.” I have confidence in your prayers.
Vain are the prayer requests of Francis because they are contrary to the will of God. “Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us” (1 John 5:14). Francis has confidence in the vain prayers which advance a one-world religion through inter-faith dialogue. “And whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do those things that are pleasing in His sight“ (1 John 3:22).
We see from the Scriptures that the basis for being a true child of God, being accepted by God, truly loving God and truly loving others is all dependent upon obedient faith in Jesus Christ. Whose words will you trust?
