Recently, American rock star Lady Gaga canceled an Indonesian concert amid Muslim protest fears. Her provocative immodesty and satanic song lyrics have caused Muslims to view her as the “devil’s messenger.” With American performers like Lady Gaga, it is no wonder why Islamic nations refer to America as the Great Satan. Al Aribiya News reported:
Earlier this month Jakarta police refused approval for the show after the hardline Islamic Defenders Front threatened violence if Lady Gaga performed, calling her a “devil’s messenger” who wears only a “bra and panties” on stage. (online source)
The fact that Muslims recognize the diabolical influence of Lady Gaga while some American “Christians” defend her spirituality and belief in Jesus is further evidence that we are living in perilous times. “For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof” (2 Timothy 3:2-5).
On Larry King Live, Lady Gaga says, “I believe in Jesus, I believe in God, I’m very spiritual, I pray” (online source). The Bible says, “Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?” (James 2:19,20). In other words, belief is not enough. Even devils believe in Jesus. A person cannot expect to live like the devil and be justified with God.
In one of her recent singles called “Judas” she speaks about her love affair with Judas, the disciple who betrayed Jesus and killed himself. Jesus referred to Judas as the “son of perdition” (John 17:12) and “it had been good for that man if he had not been born” (Matthew 26:24). Rather than calling Jesus her King, she refers to Judas as her king. She sings, “I’ll bring him down, bring him down, down / A king with no crown, king with no crown. The song also states:
Ohohohoh
I’m in love with JudasJudas! Judaas Judas! Judaas
Judas! Judaas Judas! GAGAWhen he comes to me I am ready
I’ll wash his feet with my hair if he needs
Forgive him when his tongue lies through his brain
Even after three times he betrays me . . .
Notice her blasphemy by replacing Jesus in the biblical account with Judas. “Then took Mary a pound of ointment of spikenard, very costly, and anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped his feet with her hair: and the house was filled with the odour of the ointment” (John 12:3). Judas spoke against Mary worshiping Jesus by wiping His feet with her hair. Judas said, “Why was not this ointment sold for three hundred pence, and given to the poor?” (John 12:5). Judas said this not because he cared for the poor but because he was a thief and carried the disciples money bag stealing what was put in it. Jesus said to Judas, “Let her alone: against the day of my burying hath she kept this.” (John 12:6). Yet Gaga worships Judas in Jesus’ place. She continues:
In the most Biblical sense,
I am beyond repentance
Fame hooker, prostitute wench, vomits her mind
But in the cultural sense
I just speak in future tense
Judas, kiss me if offenced,
Or wear an ear condom next time
I wanna love you,
But something’s pulling me away from you
Jesus is my virtue,
Judas is the demon I cling to
I cling to (online source)
She admits that she is beyond repentance toward God, a necessity for salvation accompanied with faith in Jesus Christ. Gaga explains the song:
It’s about constantly walking towards the light in my life, but always clutching onto the light while peering towards the devil in the back. . . . I sing about what a holy fool I am, and that although moments in my life are so cruel and relationships can be so cruel I’m still in love with Judas. I still go back again to those evil things. Lady Gaga is a minister of Satan: “For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works” (2 Corinthians 11:13-15).
And yet Rev. Brian Kirk, a pastor in the Christian Church and adjunct faculty teacher at Eden Theological Seminary states:
It is no wonder that some youth see the Jesus of Scripture mirrored more in the music of popular culture than in the life of the Church.
Lady Gaga speaks directly to those the Church would condemn and offers an alternative vision of a world without judgment – not unlike Jesus’ own vision of a kingdom of God centered in grace and forgiveness. (online source)
This is a direct product of the Emerging Church theology preaching another Jesus and another gospel void of judgment. While Muslims are sadly deceived into the same kingdom of darkness as Gaga, they are right about her being the devil’s messenger. She is no worshiper of God, but admits her idolatry saying, “I worship my fans. They are my religion.” (online source)
What a desperate state we are in. The true invisible Church of Jesus Christ recognizes that just because somebody says “God” in their lyrics doesn’t make them a Christian. In another one of her songs, “Born This Way,” she sings:
I’m beautiful in my way
‘Cause God makes no mistakes
I’m on the right track, baby
I was born this way
Don’t hide yourself in regret
Just love yourself and you’re set
I’m on the right track, baby
I was born this way . . .
No matter gay, straight, or bi,
Lesbian, transgendered life,
I’m on the right track baby,
I was born to survive.
No matter black, white or beige
Chola or orient made,
I’m on the right track baby,
I was born to be brave. (online source)
She deceptively combines ethnic groups or race with immoral and sinful behavior as if both categories are determined at birth and not matters of free will or choice. This unnatural immorality is specifically related to the judgment of God in conjunction with those who are, “beyond repentance,” as Gaga stated of herself. “And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them” (Romans 1:28-32).
In the music video of “Born This Way,” she copies the satanist and homosexual promoter Kenneth Anger’s film Lucifer Rising. The music video begins with a right-side-up triangle, and at the end of the video it is inverted. Pastor Joe Schimmel comments:
Inverted triangles of various colors were used by the Nazi’s to designate various groups i.e., orange for gypsies, blue for communists, pink for effeminate homosexuals. Many of the Nazi’s were gay, but they persecuted homosexuals who were known to be effeminate. Some homosexuals have used pink or rainbow triangles as a celebration of homosexuality. Kenneth Anger uses it to make a statement about both Homosexuality and Satanism. When Kenneth Anger uses it in the introduction of Lucifer Rising, it appears right side up. By the end of the movie it appears again, but is inverted. I believe for Kenneth Anger, it is a symbol for the satanic inversion of society and biblical morals, as a result of the rise of Lucifer and the Crowleyan age of Horus. Satanists have long pointed out that Satanism is in many ways, an inversion of Christianity. Anton LaVey pointed out in the Satanic Bible, that the word “Live” is “Evil” backwards. We also see that many Satanists have used the upside down cross. (online source)
Jesus warned, “Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Ye shall know them by their fruits” (Matthew 7:15,16). America has fallen so far into depravity that even the professing Church cannot recognize a messenger of Satan that Muslims can. Sadly, many Muslims have a much higher standard of modest dress than many American Christian women. This is another reason that a false religion like Islam may recognize a messenger of the devil that professing Christians are blinded to in America. Lady Gaga’s sensual performances in her underwear demonstrate the antithesis of the virtuous and godly women of the Bible:
In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array; but (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works. (1 Timothy 2:9,10)
The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things; that they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, to be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed. (Titus 2:3-5)
Likewise, ye wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; that, if any obey not the word, they also may without the word be won by the conversation of the wives; while they behold your chaste conversation coupled with fear. Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel; but let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price. For after this manner in the old time the holy women also, who trusted in God, adorned themselves, being in subjection unto their own husbands: even as Sara obeyed Abraham, calling him lord: whose daughters ye are, as long as ye do well, and are not afraid with any amazement. (1 Peter 3:1-6)
